SHAKA COOK



 
 

Shaka Cook is emerging as one Australia’s most exciting lead actors. A proud Innawonga and Yindjibarndi man from the Pilbara region of Western Australia, Shaka is also a graduate from the National Institute Of Dramatic Art. Since graduation, Shaka has performed around Australia for numerous main stage theatre companies, and joined an acclaimed Sydney Theatre Company tour of The Secret River to the Edinburgh Festival and the National Theatre in London. Shaka has also appeared in numerous television productions, including Cleverman (ABC) Black Comedy (ABC) and Operation Buffalo (ABC). His feature film credits include Top End Wedding, directed by Wayne Blair and a lead role in the critically acclaimed The Flood, directed by Victoria Wharfe McIntyre. After huge success in the role of Hercules Mulligan/James Madison during the Australian production of theatrical sensation Hamilton, Shaka is currently reprising the role in the upcoming international tour. Shaka will next appear in feature film Kid Snow, directed by Paul Goldman, playing the character of Armless opposite Tom Bateman and Phoebe Tonkin. He will also be seen in television series While The Men Are Away (SBS) playing the role of Murray opposite Gemma Ward and Michela De Rossi.
